Housing Storage Chests and Thieves (?)
The tooltip for the "Hewn Log Storage Chest" says: ".. it won't keep out any thieves".

So I tried to check how this works and went into some homes with this storage chest. But I wasn't able to access their chest.

So is the tooltip wrong, and all chest are secure and no visitor can steal anything from me?

Or did I miss something?

If thieves are possible, which is the best secure "starter chest" to buy on the trade market?

Introduction

New World Aeternum has a unique inventory management system. In this guide, we will break down how New World Storage System works, how to increase your storage, and how to manage the inventory in New World.

How Storage Works in New World

Banking in New World Aeternum comes in the form of a personal storage unit located in each Settlement. You can find the storage locations by opening up the map using the default key of “M” and scrolling in on a settlement until you can see the icons. The storage icon is noted by a box or chest icon on the map.

In order to access your storage just make your way over to that location and use the storage container. This acts just as a bank would in other games. You can move items into and out of your storage while accessing a storage container. In order to access your storage, you must be at a storage shed or chest in your home.

The storage capacity is based on weight, (just like your character inventory), so you are limited as to what you can store in your storage.

Storage box shared across all characters

Welcome to the forum.

It could happen. This has been a topic for a long time. Then one update gave us the ability to start a new world without having to delete game save files. When you do that, you lose everything.

I have collected enough of everything for all my characters to be equipped with the same weapons or different weapons. I don’t store weapons, optics or trap making stuff in my plundra. Just things like ammo, health and adrenaline shots. Always collecting, using, and storing those things. If I start a new world, I still have tons of room in my plundra to store everything my character carries. You can go a long way in a new world with a new character and just collect things as you go. Just carry them instead of dumping them into storage. Only open the plundras as you find them to make them safe houses.

Also, if you decide to pull everything from storage to start a new world/character and character is to heavy to move. Then when you return to that fat character, to move to the storage, just dump enough stuff to move. Then make a few trips to put it all back into your locker.

Those of you that remember when we kept asking
