Mps world summit 2024

The Third MPS World Summit

In June 2024, the third MPS Nature Summit took place in Seattle, Washington. Over 130 talks and panel discussions and 400 posters boosted the latest MPS developments. The extensive program was accompanied by hands-on workshops, satellite and consortium meetings, and an exchange with over 40 international organizations and companies. The small delegation of the µOrganoLab consisting of Peter, Hannah, and Alessia had the chance to network with leaders in the OoC field, gaining new insights and sharing expertise by presenting recent progress.

Especially outstanding were this year’s panels on the applicability and standardization domain, pioneering commercial implementation, and supporting collaboration with researchers.  One week embellished with keynotes and events, our three team members collected expertise for the entire µOrganoLab, which was shared in a group meeting back home.

But not only was the program overwhelming – is there a more beautiful place for a conference than a city situated on the shore and overlooked by the remarkable mountain Mount Rainier? This was the view our team delegation was welcomed to in Seattle. Dinner on the Garden Ter

mps world summit 2024

The MPS World Summit, organized by the Johns Hopkins Center for alternatives to animal testing (CAAT), with the support of more than forty organizations, is proud to present the Microphysiological Systems World Summit.

The 2022 inaugural summit in New Orleans brought together a global audience and established the first steps in creating a roadmap for MPS technologies. The summit in New Orleans also served to officially establish the International MPS Society (IMPSS).

With the support of 54 sponsors and 665 attendees (450 of which attended in person), the 2022 summit was a successful start to facilitating stakeholder communication as well as providing networking opportunities for young scientists, researchers, and industry leaders in the MPS field.

The momentum continued with the 2nd World Summit in Berlin. With the support of 97 sponsors and 1300 attendees, our numbers tripled. The 2023 Summit also saw the officialization of the International MPS Society (IMPSS).

Microphysiological Systems World Summit 2024

Microphysiological systems (MPS) comprise a number of bioengineering breakthroughs that reproduce organ architecture and function in vitro. Fueled by stem-cell technologies, a broad variety of especially human models and test systems have emerged, which make relevant experimental tools broadly available through international and multidisciplinary collaborations.

Conference series are a key tool to form a community and accelerate scientific developments, their implementation and global harmonization. They provide an overview on the state-of-the-art in such dynamic and diverse fields, enabling transfer learning. A global conference on MPS was identified by opinion leaders in the field as a key step forward in the maturation and harmonization of the area.

40+ international organizations and companies have teamed up for a series of annual MPS World Summits to present the latest scientific achievements, discuss the advances and challenges, and enable communication between young and newly interested scientists and pioneers of the MPS field.
