Unskippable cutscenes can be rather annoying, especially if you’ve already played through the Story Mode once already. Can you jump past these tidbits of story in Monster Hunter: World, or are you stuck watching the mini-movies?

Is There A Way To Skip Cutscenes in Monster Hunter: World?

If you’re playing on a console, there is no way to skip the Monster Hunter: World cutscenes. They want to see what is unfolding in the story, and there isn’t a way to skip over them, even if you make a new character. On PC, however, there is a mod available that will allow you to skip over the story and just get right into the action.

There are a few choice cutscenes that can be skipped in the game, such as the cutscenes from sieges and repeatable missions, but Main Story cutscenes are a requirement to view. While this may be slightly obnoxious, the story of Monster Hunter: World is rather enjoyable so you won’t need to worry too much on that front. At least you can pause the cutscenes, unlike the main game, so you can step away for a minute after defeating a giant monster in the hunt of your life.

Will this feature ever come to the game? It’s unlikely

Should players wish to, cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds can be skipped, paused, or rewatched. Discover out everything you need to know about cutscenes in this guide!

      List of Contents

To skip cutscenes in the game, you can use the designated button to skip them. Do so until the green circle around the touchpad icon becomes full.

      PCHold Tab
      PlayStation
      Hold
      Xbox
      Hold

Certain cutscenes can also be paused. If you want to do so, press the corresponding button to stop it, giving you time to get ready yourself.

You can press the button again to resume playing the cutscene.

Once you view a cutscene for the first time, they will be saved in the Gallery where you can rewatch them. The Gallery can be found by going to the Title Screen Menu!

      Select Saved Data
      Select Cutscene

By selecting the saved information after selecting the gallery, a list of movies that you have seen with that personality will be displayed.

If there are multiple saved data, it will not be shared, and only what you see with the selected character can be played.

When watching cutscenes, your Hunter, Palico, and Seikret's current appearances will be reflected instead

Monster Hunter: World might have dozens of cutscenes for its main questline, but some of us simply prefer to skip them, ignore the story, and get some hardcore hunting action going.

Previous entries in the series were almost entirely focused on gameplay, with almost no cutscenes breaking the action at any point. Others somehow find the story unengaging but are still delighted with the gameplay.

Whatever your reason is, this guide will tell you how to skip cutscenes in Monster Hunter: World.

How to Skip Cutscenes in MH:W

To be able to skip a cutscene while it plays, press any button if you’re playing on a controller or the Escape [ESC] key if you’re playing on a PC with a keyboard.

This will make a prompt with the skip button appear on the bottom right corner of the screen.

By default, the skip button is the:

      • Options button on PlayStation
      • Menu button on Xbox
      • The X key on PC with a keyboard and mouse setup.

Just press it while it’s on-screen and the cutscene will end! However, the one big caveat is that the vast majority of cutscenes in Monster Hunter: World are unskippable outside of the Gallery!

Indeed, Capcom has made the strange design decision
